A History Lesson
The History of the Hinesville Hurricanes
Minor league football has been in existence for over 100 years and has provided players a means to hone their skills and display their talents to professional scouts and agents as well as college coaches. It has also provided fans a means of entertainment on Saturday evenings from coast to coast for that same amount of time. Today there are over 400 minor league football teams playing in some 50 leagues across the U.S. and almost 1000 teams worldwide playing minor league American football.
One of those teams, the Hinesville Hurricanes Football Club, formed as a not-for-profit organization with the intention of bringing affordable family entertainment in the form of football to the Hinesville area. The team is a part of the South Eastern American Football League (SEAFL). Hinesville has had a fine tradition in football in the past and the Hinesville Hurricanes are introducing a new level of football to the area. The Hinesville Hurricanes gives an opportunity to former high school, college, and professional players to play the game they live for and love.
The Hinesville Hurricanes, founded in 1999 by Lamar and Sheri Hall, with the intention of providing the Hinesville area sports entertainment in the form of amateur adult full-contact football. However, the primary goal of the Hinesville Hurricanes is to provide a positive role-model for youth of Liberty County.
The Huuricanes organization will also assist in trying to get player exposure for college or the next level of football whether it?s Arena, Canadian, XFL, or even the NFL. If a player wishes to go to college, we can advise how to go about getting the proper tests taken and high school transcripts sent to the school desired.
